Our activities through September and October

Our activities through September and October :

The first activity of our Comenius project was to make and write postcards which we then sent to our partner countries by „snail mail“. In them we presented our school, our city and

of course us- the students and the teachers. The students gladly participated and curiously awaited the arrival of the first postcards addressed to our school!

Then we started  designing our Comenius corner and we set up a map of Europe. Soon postcards from different countries started to arrive- read them!

The second activity was making a logo which would be our sign in this joint project. Our creative children thought of a couple , and we ended up chosing this one :

The wind rose which gathered up flags of all the participating countries and at the same time desplayed the particularities of our town and country.

We congratulate the winner Deni Marinoviæ for her idea and the 5th graders Petra Mariæ and Dora Juriæ for brushing up the idea to perfection.

The other countries were very successful and creative in their work on this activity as well.

The third activity we readily got down to was “Where in Europe?”. We explored the main particularities of each of our partner countries and found out which flag belongs to which country, what their capital is, their official language, currency, population, position, traditional costumes and much, much more...
Everything that we’ve learned, we’ve displayed in our posters as a part of our Comenius corner.

We are now getting ready for our first mobility – a visit to a school in Leicester, UK, November 6-10 2013.
We’ve prepared a presentation about our school, some traditional items of food, fragrant lavander from our own school environment... more on all of this when we get back!!
