4^th MOBILITY – CEUTA (Spain)
4th – 8^th June 2014

            Wednesday, 4^th June – we met other Comenius members from eleven European countries on a welcome dinner at a hotel “Ulises”, situated in the very center of the town Ceuta. We spent a nice evening in the company of our hosts and Comenius friends.

            Thursday, 5^th June – our Comenius team visited primary school “Lope de Vega” that was easy to reach from the hotel where we stayed. The school numbers approximately 750 pupils from the four cultural communities which live in Ceuta: Catholic, Hindu, Jewish and Moslem.

The hosts organized warm welcome to Comenius team in a way that the youngest pupils were waiting for all the teachers at the school entrance giving them a red gillyflower.

School performance was very interesting presenting harmonious life of four cultural communities in Ceuta.

After the school performance we visited classrooms and we talked to pupils. They showed us their great interest in Croatian language, traditional cuisine, costumes and Croatian football players. We also presented our meals on “International table” where other Comenius members tasted it. After that we had lunch in a school canteen tasting typical Spanish meals like paella, pinjitos and gazpacho. We really enjoyed in it.

            Friday, 6^th June – we went sightseeing accompanied by the tourist guide Gabriel who showed us all places of interest in Ceuta. He told us incredible stories about the ancient and medieval history of the town, as well as describing naval battles of Gibraltar.

In the afternoon, we went cruising by the tourist boat around the city walls which impressed us with its grandiosity just like walls of our town Dubrovnik.

           Saturday, 7^th June – Saturday was the last day of our mobility in Spain. We were a little bit sad because of that but our hosts surprised us with a sight-seeing tour. We were sight-seeing picturesque locations all around the city from where we had a beautiful panoramic view of the town.

In the evening we had a farewell party so we thanked our hosts on exceptional hospitality and four-day keeping company with all the Comenius members. We shared experiences about education and learnt a lot from each other on this meeting.

We left Spain on Sunday morning looking forward to a new meeting with European colleagues on a next mobility in Germany.
